MANAYUNK

Tara and Mark’s Manayunk love story begins like so many others do, over cocktails! However, what makes their story a little different is that their drinks, initially, were not had with one another. Tara was enjoying a beautiful March day, sitting outside of Derek’s with some friends. Suddenly,  a group of gentlemen, who knew a friend of a friend, joined their party. Tara and Mark hit it off right away, and a couple of months later Mark finally asked Tara out on their first date. It comes as no surprise, that he took her back to the scene of the crime, Derek’s, but this time around they opted for a more romantic al fresco dinner than just casual drinks.

Suffice it to say, Mark’s sauve first date worked! Fast forward to today, more than five years later, and they are happily married and raising their son, Hudson together. Neither Tara nor Mark knew, at the time, how significant that seemingly innocuous beverage would be to their lives, or what a vital part Manayunk would be to their love story, but boy do they know it now, and wouldn’t have it any other way. They even had their engagement photography session right here on Main Street!
