Tanya moved to Manayunk in early 2005 to follow a corporate career opportunity and instantly fell in love with Manayunk due to the area’s friendliness and great community. While working in Conshohocken and occasionally having to travel for business, she came to the realization of how hard it was to leave her dogs for the day or rely on others to care for them. Thus TOP TAILS was born with the intention of it being a side job and supplemental income to her corporate job. However, Tanya soon felt so fulfilled and saw  real potential for TOP TAILS to succeed, so that she left her corporate job behind.

Tanya has always had a long love for animals, which started from a young age thanks to her parents. While growing up, Tanya was surrounded by all types of animals including dogs, cats, birds, fish and even horses. There was a constant flow of pets into her childhood home and if one their family pets passed, it would quickly open a space for another. This passion and love for animals was clear even to this day in our conversation with Tanya, where she said “All the animals we care for  are so sweet and it’s always nice to get to know them and get to know their personalities”. However, Tanya isn’t the only animal lover in the TOP TAILS office. All of the staff, including the office and field managers, love all the pet families they provide professional pet care services to! And they are willing to go the extra mile for  all their clients, as well, since they are willing to offer their services 365 days a year and their office is open 9-5 on Monday through Friday. If you can’t make it into their office, they even have a 24/7 online scheduling service to make requesting a reservation for you pet even easier!

TOP TAILS found a perfect home in the quaint area of Manayunk for many reasons, with the most important being its pet friendly community including shops and restaurants. There are also a lot of great areas easily accessible to the people of Manayunk and their dogs, including Pretzel Park, the Wissahickon trails, and the Manayunk Towpath. Also, Manayunk is easily connected to many surrounding areas, including the six areas (Manayunk, Roxborough, Andorra, Wissahickon, East Falls, Chestnut Hill, Mt. Airy, and Germantown) that Top Tails offer their services to.

Tanya believes she found their sweet spot in the six areas that they work in. TOP TAILS is always willing to take in new clients in these areas, whether they are dogs or cats.
