A little bit of space, a little bit of passion, and a little bit of style is all it took for Sarah Holmes to open her very own kitchen and housewares boutique in Manayunk.  Petit Gourmand, located at 103 Cotton Street and is set to open this Friday, September 6.  

Inside this design-driven store you can expect to find not only stylish and unique kitchen items, but also a great selection of gourmet food items ranging from olive oil to herbs and spices, and our favorite, Rival Brothers Coffee!  Kitchenwares will include ceramic plates, bowls, serving dishes, cast steel pots and pans, and fun, quirky kitchen gadgets.

“Shopping at Petit Gourmand is not like your regular trip to Williams-Sonoma,” says Holmes.  “We want to be able to personally help all of our customers in a hands-on experience of restyling their home and kitchen.”

Sarah Holmes left her old life as a trial lawyer behind some year ago to pursue her love of housewares and explore her own style.  She started her own candle company, Gritty City, and was even a featured vendor at the Manayunk Arts Festival for 2 years selling her handmade candles.  Holmes has since outsourced Gritty City to be able to follow her dream and open her own kitchen houseware shop.

So far on the store’s Facebook page, one can find handmade aprons, locally made organic soaps, gourmet barbecue sauce, and even a Beer Making Kit to brew your own “Everyday IPA.”  Truly an eclectic store with something for everyone, Le Petit Gourmand is located in a quaint store front just off of Main Street in the former Top Tails pet store location.

The boutique will celebrate its Grand Opening in style this Friday during First Friday in Manayunk.  From 6-8 p.m. Petit Gourmand will have cake and champagne, live music, and coffee sampling with Rival Bros.!  The shop will also host a tasting with local BBQ sauce artisans from Rock that Roll.  All merchandise from Friday through Sunday will be 10% off with the first 15 purchasers receiving a free swag bag!
