Without a doubt, mobile trucks are all the rage in Philadelphia this year.  Food trucks are popping up at events and festivals all over the city, but could this trend continue with a mobile fashion truck?  This seems like a question for Abby Kessler and Katie Lubieski, owners of Smak Parlour, brick and mortar boutique in Center City, which has now gone mobile – with a “Fashion Truck.” 

Kessler and Lubieski launched the first mobile fashion truck in Philadelphia this summer and it is proving to be a huge success; now, the duo will be bringing their mobile boutique to Main Street in Manayunk for one weekend only, August 10-11!  The 18 x 8 foot truck boasts French doors that open to show walls lined with apparel, removable accessory displays, and even a dressing room. On a regular weekday, you can find the truck 40^th Street between Spruce and Locust, among local food trucks, stocked with Smak Parlour merchandise. The truck carries a selection of clothes and accessories similar to those you would find in the store – located at 219 Market Street.

Owners Abby and Katie have been friends since high school and have taken every step in building their business together. From their initial t-shirt line, to opening Smak Parlour, and now their newest adventure into mobile fashion, the team has stuck together as business partners and friends.

So after accomplishing so much in so little time, what’s next? Kessler and Lubieski say they would love to have a whole fleet of Smak Parlour fashion trucks, showing their merchandise across the country. We wish them luck and in the meantime, look forward to seeing them here in Manayunk on August 10th and 11th.
