Posted by: Alicia Dietzmann, Public Relations & Events Coordinator

On Saturday, April 20th, Main Street Music will be partaking in Record Store Day, a national “holiday” of sorts when independently owned record stores come together to celebrate the art of music. There are over 700 independent record stores in America, as well as thousands internationally.

Join Main Street Music in celebrating RSD. The fun starts at 9AM and lasts until 9PM. The lineup for musical performances is as follows:

            12:00PM- Billy Bragg

1:30PM- Travel Lanes (featuring Frank Brown)

            2:30M- They Joy Formidable

            4:00PM- Shark Tape

            5:00PM-Generationals

In addition to live music there will be exciting RSD exclusive releases. Click here to see a list of the new CD and vinyl releases. For all who join in celebrating RSD, Main Street music will be running their “BUY MORE SAVE MORE” special this Saturday ONLY. Make sure you stop by on Saturday and join in all the fun!

We are extremely fortunate to have a real live record store on Main Street in Manayunk. Record stores are more than places to buy CDs, They're gathering places to discuss music, politics, relationships and everything else under the sun. Searching the bins for music new and old is a bit like being a music geologist as you seek out hidden musical gems. Thanks Pat for a really cool store! DD
