MANAYUNK

The newest kid on the block is JL Racing, an athletic clothing company that specializes in rowing, cycling, triathlon, yoga, and running gear for individuals and teams. At their grand opening on March 29th & 30^th, they will showcase their brand new store at 4361 Main Street in Manayunk.

The company, based in California, has been producing high-quality athletic apparel since 1982. They manufacture and design all of their own clothing at their facility in California using sustainable methods (their factory is 60% solar powered!). Materials are made in Bluesign certified mills, the most stringent certification for cleana nd sustainable manufacturing.

JL Racing creates everything from ready-to-wear retail clothes to outfitting sports teams to sponsoring pro teams. While they have representatives all over the country as well as international hubs, the Manayunk location will only be their second store in the country, following their first in Seattle. And it will not just be a retail store—there will be a design center in the back of the store where people can create products just for their team.

The company is very excited to be in Philadelphia. “Manayunk is obviously our first choice in Philadelphia proper,” said Audra Stafford, assistant manager. “It is an epicenter of rowing and cycling.” With a number of gyms, yoga studios, and cycling and rowing enthusiasts, Manayunk is a fitness-based town. “The athletic community is really thriving… we chose this location because of that,” she noted.

With their sustainable practices and a focus on fitness, JL Racing is sure to fit right in to the Manayunk community.
