On Thursday, November 14, 2024, Canal View Park (4418 Main Street) will transform into a winter wonderland, complete with a sparkling tree, special guests, live performances, and even a visit from Santa himself. 5:30 PM | SJU City Belles
Kick off the night with the harmonious voices of the SJU City Belles. This talented a cappella group from Saint Joseph’s University will bring the holiday spirit with their renditions of festive classics that are sure to warm your heart and get you in the mood for the season!
5:45 PM | Santa’s Fire Truck Arrival
Prepare for excitement as Santa Claus himself arrives in style on a fire truck! He’ll be making his way to Canal View Park, waving to all the children and bringing his jolly charm to the festivities. Kids and adults alike will have the chance to meet Santa!
6:00 PM | Live Performance by John Gilbride
The night continues with a performance by singer-songwriter John Gilbride, who’ll bring his soulful tunes to Main Street. Known for his powerful voice and engaging stage presence, John will add a musical touch that perfectly complements the festive atmosphere.
6:30 PM | Live Performance by Emily Drinker
Up next, Emily Drinker takes the stage! This award-winning singer-songwriter and Manayunk local is known for her unique blend of folk, pop, and soul. Her warm, lively set will have everyone tapping their toes and enjoying the holiday magic.
7:00 PM | Tree Lighting Ceremony & “Manayunk Gets Lit” Kick-Off!
The main event is finally here! As the clock strikes 7:00 PM, our beautiful holiday tree will light up, casting a festive glow over Canal View Park and Main Street. We’ll all count down together as Manayunk officially kicks off the holiday season. Watch as the tree comes alive with thousands of twinkling lights, signaling the start of “Manayunk Gets Lit,” our month-long celebration of all things merry and bright.
