EVENT RECAP: Manayunk Harvest Fest

Oct 18, 2017 0 comments

There's only one way to welcome in the season of fall, and that is a Harvest Fest. On Saturday October 14th, we held our first ever Harvest Fest in Pretzel Park!

Festival attendees stopped by to enjoy live music, delicious food and beer, kids activities, and professional pumpkin carving. We had eight local bands and performance groups take the stage in Pretzel Park. Every band got the crowd dancing, relaxing, and cheering for more!

Throughout the day some great activities took place such as the Fun Run with Never Give Up Training to kick off the festival and a Scarecrow Stroll along Main Street. The best community decorated Scarecrow was decorated for Latitudes & Longitudes by Ashley of Pooch Scoochers and the best business decorated scarecrow was by Art + Science Salon.

During the festival we held a great community collaboration experience with the painting of a community mural located at Cresson Street and Roxborough Avenue. Splash Lab Arts created a fantastic concept for the mural with the theme "I Heart MNYK". They created a the outline and the rest was up to the community to leave their mark. Festival attendees filled in the empty squares with colorful artwork representing what each individual loves about Manayunk. The finished product looks amazing and brought a smile to all who passed by.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed to Harvest Fest and making it a fun filled day for the Manayunk Community. If you missed Harvest Fest don't worry, our next event is Halloween in Manayunk on Saturday October 28th.
