Summer is here and with it comes Main Street's biggest event of the year, The Manayunk Arts Festival! If you're joining us, we've answered our most common Frequently Asked Questions by festival visitors to help you prepare for a great weekend...

What is the Manayunk Arts Festival?

Entering its 27th year, the Manayunk Arts Festival is one of this neighborhood's longest running traditions. With more than 300 local and nationally known artists and thousands of attendees on Main Street, it is the largest outdoor, juried arts festival in the region. This rain-or-shine event is open to all ages!

When and where is it?

The festival takes place on Saturday, June 25th from 11AM to 7PM and Sunday, June 26th between 11AM and 6PM. Main Street will be closed to traffic between Shurs Lane and Green Lane for the festival.

What types of artists/vendors will be at this year's Arts Festival?

The Manayunk Arts Festival features artists from seven different disciplines: Fiber, Glass & Ceramics, Jewelry, Mixed Media, Painting & Drawing, Photography, and Wood & Sculpture. For the fourth year, there will also be an Emerging Artist Tent located at Main Street and Roxborough Ave. A complete list of artists and craft vendors can be found here.

Where can I find a particular artist's booth?

Take a look at our festival map below to see where your favorite artists are located this weekend and download a printable version here!

Is it possible to get a piece of art I purchase shipped to me?

You betcha! Our sponsor Roadie is an app that specializes in a Ride Share Delivery System that allows you to find drivers who will deliver your purchase right to your home for an agreed upon fee. For more details, visit the Roadie website.

Do artists accept credit card payments? Where are the nearest ATMs?

Some artists do accept Credit Card payments, while others only accept cash. If cash is needed, visit one of the ATMs in Manayunk at Chloe's Corner (4162 Main Street), Palm Tree Market (115 Levering Street), Salon L'Etoile (4360 Main Street), or Smokin' John's BBQ (4258 Main Street).

How do I get to Manayunk?

There are many ways to get here, but it's up to you to decide which works best.

  • Driving: There are two exits off of I-76 that take you into Manayunk: Exit 338 (Belmont Ave/Green Lane) and Exit 340A (Lincoln Drive/Kelly Drive). Please note that the Walnut Lane Bridge is closed until October 2016, so we highly recommend taking Bells Mill Road or Lincoln Drive depending on where you are coming from. We recommend parking at the Green Lane lot (located on Green Lane between Main Street and Cresson Street) or parking at either the Wissahickon or Ivy Ridge Station and taking the train to the Manayunk stop.
  • Shuttle Service: Shuttle buses will run from two different parking lots to the Arts Festival. Get picked up by the shuttles at 555 City Avenue (Bala Cynwyd) or at the Ivy Ridge Train Station (4910 Umbria Street) and for a $4 round trip donation (kids ride for $2) to North Light Community Center, you can be dropped off right at the entrance to the festival! Parking lots are available in both of those locations. The City Avenue shuttle will also make a stop at the corner of Shurs Lane and Ridge Avenue and the Ivy Ridge shuttle will also stop at Gorgas Park (Hermitage Street and Domino Lane). Shuttles run from 11AM-8PM on Saturday and 11AM-7PM on Sunday.

  • Public Transportation: Don't feel like driving? You can ride SEPTA's Manayunk-Norristown Line to the Manayunk Train Station. Both the 35 and 61 buses will be rerouted for the day to Ridge Avenue.
  • Taxis, Ubers, and Lyfts are always great options as well!
  • If you are feeling extra ambitious, why not walk, run, or bike to Manayunk via the Circuit Trails? Plan your adventure to Manayunk here!

Where can I go to grab a bite to eat?
