Festival patrons and emerging artists gathered from all over the U.S. to share in the tradition of excellence at the 26th Annual Manayunk Arts Festival on June 20th & 21st. Crafters, live art entertainment, food, shopping and fun were all part of the weekend agenda, and thankfully Mother Nature granted us two beautiful sunny days to celebrate yet another successful showcasing of the finest arts and crafts.

Each year, this exciting two-day festival takes place along historic Main Street in Manayunk with various vendors, delicious food, and of course art. There were hundreds of original, hand-crafted works on display, with everything from photography samples, paintings, sketches and mixed-media designs to sculptures, ceramics, woodworks, jewelry and hand-made glass products.

Creating opportunities for people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds to embrace the arts, the Manayunk Arts Festival is one of the most respected arts events in the tri-state area, and brings more than 200,000 art enthusiasts each year to its downtown location on Main Street. After evaluating hundreds of outstanding artwork submissions, a panel of local arts professionals selected longtime resident of the Philadelphia area, David Winigrad, as the Best in Show from the wood & sculpture category.

The Manayunk Arts Festival has been going strong since 1989 on account of its talented artists, community partners, local volunteers, sponsors and supporters of the event. I had a wonderful time seeing the sights, meeting the local artists and admiring their works.

If you're looking for an extra dose of artistic inspiration, Manayunk has plenty to spare! Manayunk Development Corporation is so proud to be able to bring you that, and a big thanks to all who made last weekend's Arts Fest such a huge success!
