KNOW BEFORE YOU GO: Holidays in Manayunk

It's time to spread the holiday cheer throughout Manayunk! Bring your friends and loved ones to Main Street for some amazing deals and festive fun!

What is "Holidays in Manayunk"?

This is your chance to shop, dine, and be merry in Manayunk, for the holiday season! Shop small and shop local at over 50 small businesses to find something for everyone on your list. While you're in town shopping, get in the holiday spirit by joining us at one of our many holiday events. We've got activities and deals for all ages, so bring the out the whole family for some festive fun!

How long does it last?

Events will be taking place from Thursday, November 21st to Tuesday, December 24th.

What events can I attend in during Holidays in Manayunk?

-Tree Lighting Ceremony (11/21): Join us for our annual tree lighting ceremony on Thursday, November 21 at 6PM! Watch performances from local entertainment companies, hear from local politicians, and help us count down to the holiday season with the grand finale of the tree lighting. You better watch out -- the big man himself may make an appearance, too!

- Small Business Saturday (11/30): Shop at over 50 small businesses along Main Street to kick off your holiday season.

Santa Paws (12/1): Head to the Pet Friendly Dog Bakery for the annual Santa Paws! Get your pet's photo with Santa presented by Latitudes and Longitudes and Dogs of Manayunk from 10AM-6PM on Sunday, December 1. We encourage a suggested donation that will be donated to an animal charity. There will also be fun raffles and free coffee for humans all day!

Photos with Santa (12/5) Skip the mall and head to Canal View Park to get a unique photo with Santa! Santa will be sitting on a chair made of ice on Thursday, December 5 from 6-8PM in front of the Manayunk Holiday Tree -- the perfect opportunity to send them out with your holiday cards!

Promenade of Trees (12/12): On Thursday, December 12, Main Street will light up for the third annual Promenade of Trees! Stroll down Main Street 6-8PM to vote for your favorite trees by dropping coins in the jars in front of each tree. Pick up your bag of coins and a map at the Manayunk Holiday Tree in Canal View Park. Trees will be decorated in the theme "A Very Philly Christmas."

Rudolph Run (12/4): The 6th Annual Rudolph Run is on Saturday, December 14! Join Philadelphia Runner for a fun 3-mile run along the Manayunk Canal.


To help spread some holiday cheer to those in need, we'll be collecting canned goods and other necessities again as donations/entry fee for North Light Community Center. Everyone who registers will be emailed a virtual swag bag on the day of the run.

Men's Night (12/19): Hey guys, need help finishing your holiday shopping? Let Manayunk shop owners help you out! Come to Main Street on Thursday, December 19 from 6-8PM where free gift wrapping, drinks while you shop, and personal shopping experiences will be in all of your favorite stores.

Manayunk Meals and More (12/22): Local businesses will also continue the Manayunk Meals & More tradition on December 22, where select restaurants will prepare and deliver 1000+ hot meals to Intercommunity Action, Inc.'s program, Journey's Way. Other local shops and restaurants will collect canned goods, toiletries, and paper products for North Light Community Center’s food cupboard throughout the holiday season.

Coming To Manayunk By Car:

From South

(Delaware, Baltimore)

Take I-95 North. Follow signs for Central Philadelphia/I- 676 West. Follow 676 West to signs for Route 76 (Schuylkill Expressway) West - (towards Valley Forge). Take 76 to Belmont Ave/Green Lane Exit 338 (old exit 31), at the bottom of the ramp make a right turn cross the Green Lane bridge to the traffic light which is Main Street and make a right turn. Welcome to Manayunk - first parking lot will appear on your right just past the fire house.

From West

(Reading, Lancaster, Harrisburg)

Take the PA Turnpike East to Exit 326 (old exit 24; Schuylkill Expressway). Take Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) East towards Central Philadelphia. Take 76 to Belmont Ave/Green Lane Exit 338 (old exit 31), at the bottom of the ramp make a left turn, cross the Green Lane bridge to the traffic light which is Main Street and make a right turn. Welcome to Manayunk - first parking lot will appear on your right just past the fire house.

From North

(New York, North Jersey)

Take NJ Turnpike to PA Turnpike/Exit 6. Take the PA Turnpike to Exit 326 (old exit 24; Schuylkill Expressway). Take Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) East towards Central Philadelphia. Coming To Manayunk By Bike:

Stay active and remain eco-friendly by biking to Manayunk! Take Kelly Drive from Center City or the Schuylkill River Trail from all parts of the Philadelphia region. Visit the Bike Coalition of Greater Philadelphia for more details and biking maps.

Coming To Manayunk By Public Transportation:

Where can I park?

There will be FREE METERED PARKING every weekend in December starting at 11 a.m. on Saturdays and ending at 11:59 p.m. on Sundays. There is also plenty of parking in parking lots listed below. There will also be FREE PARKING in the Green Lane, Levering Street, 4000 Main Street, and Venice Island Lots on Small Business Saturday until 5PM.

  • Green Lane between Main Street and Cresson Street
  • Main and Levering Streets
  • Venice Island via Main and Lock Streets
  • Venice Island via Main and Cotton Streets
  • Venice Island via Carson Street (across from Post Office)
  • 4000 Main Street - Night time and weekend parking only
  • Valet parking is available at various locations on Main Street for evening diners and shoppers (after 6pm)

Will there be ant street closures?

There are no street closures for any Holidays in Manayunk events.
