How do I enter to win?
All participating bars and restaurants will have a box on their bar with entry forms. Fill out the entry form with your name, email and phone number and then drop it in the box. One entry per venue. Winner will be chosen at random after Cocktail Week.
Billy Cavallo is the East Coast Brand Ambassador for Crystal Head Vodka, proudly owned by famed actor and comedian Dan Aykroyd. He got his start in the industry five years ago after winning the national Most Original Stoli Guy competition, from where after he worked on both Philadelphia local, and national events for Stoli. It is from this work that sparked the interest from Crystal Head, where he now travels the east coast, educating people on this amazing, diamond filtered, additive free vodka. He is incredibly excited to be a part of Manayunk Cocktail Week in his new role, and being able to teach consumers and bartenders alike the cocktailing versatility of this brand through fun and engaging events including a Crystal Head bottle painting party, an evening of succulent planting, and more. Look for Billy’s events all week during Manayunk Cocktail Week.
Amanda’s career started 20 years ago as a Bartender in Philadelphia working in various high-volume restaurants in the heart of Philadelphia.
In 2005, she became a Beverage Manager for The Pier at Caesars Casino in Atlantic City. Immersing herself into the educational aspect of Wine and Spirits she was certified through the Court of Masters.
Upon leaving Caesars she worked for Redstone Grille and continued her education through the American Sommelier Association completing the Viticulture and Vinification Course in New York, NY.
In 2011 she became the Sommelier at an American style steakhouse owned by the Starr Restaurant Organization called Butcher and Singer.
Amanda then took a role with Breakthru Beverage (formally Capital Wine and Spirits) as a Sales Representative On-Premise in 2014 selling the E&J Gallo portfolio and then swiftly moved into management as the Field Sale Manager for the Legacy Division in Philadelphia. She was in that role for 5 years and during her time at Breakthru won the Breakthru Edge Award which is given to people that can increase market share and surpass individual and supplier goals. In 2017, on behalf of Breakthru Beverage Executive Leadership Team and Ownership, Amanda was identified among a group of emerging leaders inside the organization and was invited to attend the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers Association’s Conference for Leadership Development in Austin, TX. Amanda was also invited to attend the 4th annual Women of the Vine Global Wine and Spirits Symposium in Napa Valley which she attended in 2018.
Education has always been extremely important to Amanda which is why at Breakthru she took the WSET course in Wine and Spirits and was the first to achieve the score of 100%. She then became a certified trained for the WSET training classes for new hires at Breakthru Beverage.
In June of 2018 Amanda came to work for the E&J Gallo Winery as an On-Premise Luxury Wine Specialist for Philadelphia which is also where she lives with her son Luca.
Genevieve attended Temple University in Philadelphia and has lived in the city ever since. She now is a Manayunk local buying her first home here this year. Genevieve started her wine and spirits career working for Gmr marketing launching Berentzen in the Philadelphia Market. She then spent 4 years working for Jagermeister as their trend and scene manager in Philadelphia. Genevieve is now Infinium Spirits’ Fratelli Branca Portfolio Manager for Pennsylvania. She focuses on Fernet Branca, Branca Menta, Carpano vermouths, and caffe borghetti. Genevieve’s favorite spirit is amaro and her favorite cocktail is a Toronto. In her spare time Genevieve enjoys spending time with her dog and three cats, reading, and traveling as much as she can.
Serena Huggard, 24 from Dublin, studied Sociology and Geography in University College Dublin, yet thought that Argentina was a fruit.
Since leaving college Serena has been heavily involved in promotions and events. Working for one of Dublin’s top radio stations FM104, she managed their promotional staff for 2 years. Serena then moved into an account managers role with a new exciting Dublin promotions company. She worked with a range of brands and clients first hand such as Lindt chocolate and Victoria’s secret.
Serena spent a year in Australia working in events for a popular chain of bars PJ O’ Brien’s. Her love of the food and drink industry flourished along with her love reptilian creatures. So much so that when she returned to Ireland, she rehomed and mothered a female bearded dragon named Larry.
Fun Fact: When Serena was 3 years old her brothers practiced their roundhouse kicks by placing and apple on her head. They always missed
Krista is the regional manager for the Spiribam family and has worked for many years as a fine rum specialist with brands including Clément Rhum, Chairman’s Reserve, Bounty Rum, Rhum J.M, and Admiral Rodney and the importer of Guadeloupe’s Damoiseau Rhum. Krista worked with Tuthilltown Spirits prior to finding her passion for rum and agricultural spirits. She lives in Brooklyn, NY and studied philosophy and ultimately applied science in Jewelry Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology while also bartending for10 years in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Erik Andersson joined the eclectic US Hendrick’s team from Sweden in 2017 now overseeing the Eastern region of the U.S. For nearly half a decade, Andersson was the Hendrick’s Gin Ambassador in Asia looking after markets including China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong. His love affair with spirits began when he was a young bartender in his hometown Uppsala in 1998. Andersson holds dear over 15 years of experience in the industry, and has a deep love for travel, which led him to bar programs and ownership roles in London, China and Stockholm. In addition to his wealth of knowledge in mixology, service and product, Erik is fluent in Mandarin, which he now brings with him on his travels to exotic locales. If you can pull Erik away from the bar, you can find him in the great outdoors enjoying hunting, fishing and playing classical music.
