About Holidays In Manayunk

The season is upon us and there is no better place to celebrate than Main Street in Manayunk! With more than 50 small locally-owned businesses, you’re surely find something for everyone on your list. While shopping and dining around town, get in the holiday spirit by joining us at one of our many holiday events and take a tour of our wonderful holiday light displays on our FREE Jolly Trolley rides Thursday, Fridays, and Saturdays throughout the season. Calendar of Events

Manayunk lights up for the holidays on November 14, 2024 with our annual tree-lighting ceremony! Join us at Canal View Park (4418 Main Street) from 5:30-7:00 PM where we'll host special guests and live performances.

Throughout the entire night, guests can expect family fun, Santa meet & greet, a North Pole Elf, SNOW, crafts, glow giveaways, and more!


Birds Green at the Manayunk Tree

With the game on at 8:15PM, sport your gear at the Tree Lighting for your chance to win a $100 Manayunk Shopping Spree! The night will also bring green glow giveaways and a special Birds Cheer led by Santa Claus!


Bring the family to Main Street all season long for Get Lit weekends which will feature food and drink deals, shopping specials, festive live entertainment, and the FREE Manayunk Jolly Trolley.

The Jolly Trolley will run up and down Main Street making several stops at your favorite businesses! Plus, it's the best way to take in all the twinkling Get Lit lights.

The Manayunk Gets Lit Competition officially launches on November 14, 2024 when Main Street lights up with more than eighty thousand lights, holiday decorations, displays, and more.

Vote in your favorite businesses for Best Overall, Most Lit, and Most Creative. Voting runs November 14 through December 17 with winners being announced on December 18. All voters will be entered for their chance to win a $200 Manayunk Shopping Spree.

Operation Santa Claus is back - a collaborative program that will support local families in need this holiday season. In partnership with North Light Community Center, the Manayunk Development Corporation is helping local families in need this holiday season.

Stop by 106 Grape Street to pick a tag off of the holiday tree to donate a gift to a North Light family.

Bring your furry friends to the Pet Friendly Dog Bakery for portraits with Santa Claus on Sunday, December 8 from 9AM-1PM.

Recommended donation - $15. Proceeds will benefit an adoption organization in need.

Dress in your holiday best for the 10th Annual Rudolph Run! Join Philadelphia Runner for a fun 3-mile fun run along the Manayunk Canal on Saturday, December 14th at 9AM.

Check in for the run will be at Philadelphia Runner on Main Street starting at 8:30AM. Brooks will have their latest and greatest footwear for runners to test out and some special post run treats back in the shop afterward.

Holiday attire is encouraged - lights, reindeer antlers, red noses, sparkles, ugly Christmas sweaters, and whatever else runners may have laying around.

Canned goods and other necessities will be collected for North Light Community Center as donations/entry fee. Donation drop-off will take place during check in.

Round up some friends and celebrate the season with this jolly good run followed by hot chocolate and more sweet treats. Sign up here.

Eight Crazy Nights of Hanukkah Giveaway

Back again this year is Eight Crazy Nights of Hanukkah kicking off on Wednesday, December 25th and running through January 1st. In celebration of the Festival of Lights, Manayunk will be hosting ‘Eight Crazy Nights’ of Instagram giveaways with prizes from Manayunk restaurants, stores, and specialty businesses.

There are over 700 spaces are available in parking lots conveniently located throughout the commercial district. In addition, revenue generated in many Manayunk parking lots is used for street maintenance, anti-graffiti programs, landscape, and greening projects, watershed education, and ongoing development projects.
